Far beyond the resorts, hotels and hostels highest surrounding Caldas Novas, Rio Quente prevails as a river that runs through the hills of Caldas, passes through the former farm of Aguas Calientes (which originated the current Rio Quente Resorts) and follows its course to flow into the cold waters of a river near Piracanjuba, located at the south of this brazilian state.
Rio Quente Camping
The city of Rio Quente is in a privileged geographical position, near Goiania, Brasilia, Uberlandia, Sao Paulo (city) and the rich interior of it. This river in my opinion a divine gift, available to all, and that one time or another may be being underused in the clutches of the capitalists and the local tourism explorations. Incidentally, this humble river has a great, or better, a HUGE mission. Besides supplying part of the needs of Rio Quente Resorts, there are campsites, hotels, hostels and many people who enjoy the quality thermal hot watters from this river.
Hot waters for everyone
This river, which nature persists in keeping with the average temperature ranging between 30 and 38 º C is available for all budgets. If you have no interest in spending thousands a day enjoying the pleasures of this natural wonder, then Esplanada do Rio Quente can be an interesting and economical alternative for you.
Everyone now knows the city of Caldas Novas (GO), as the city of Rio Quente. But this is to some extent a misnomer, since the Hot River flowing from the montain behind Caldas is not hot enough to reach the city of Caldas Novas (Caldas is more or less about 40 kilometers away from the heart of the hot watters). Now what everyone knows is that besides Caldas Novas city there is another city from the state of Goias called Hot River, where is located the Pousada do Rio Quente and is very rich in hotels / lodges and resorts high level of which was given the grace in to have the hot watters river literally inside the hotel.
BBQ on the hot waters
Previously these hotels were camping, which over time and with intense tourist activity in the region have developed and today have become meccas of warm water with a leisure infra-structure and preserve the river of hot springs in their funds. That’s what you heard. The river runs through the hotels / resorts in the Hot River Esplanade. It is this sector that are located three hotels in the complex Rio Quente Resorts, which today is considered the biggest water park in South America.
So if you want to take a ride a little more economical, you should opt for camping on Rio Quente. They have no Web site and telephone reservations and schedules is just by the phone number – (+5564) 3452-1341. The cost to enter the camping is $ 12.00 per person. Costs are ocilantes and vary depending on time of year. The slogan of camping is very inviting: Shade and Hot Water. In their slogan should come too Smokey BBQ, empty cans, a little dirt, but a clean and preserved river! Everyone I saw was involved in a “roast”. Brazilians definitely love to do a barbecue, even at the edge of a river with warm waters. The citizen gets its stupidly cold can of beer, the board completely filled with minced meat and goes to the middle of the river enjoy the capital sin of gluttony in the midst of the hot waters!
Camping and everything on the hot waters of Rio Quente
I walked along some trails that connect the river to the lodges and terrain of the region. The advantage here is to be hosted at another place and to visit this site just in one day. The better of all this history is that in the end I had a river of hot water through the bottom of the hotel, wich I spent just five minutes walking to get in there! The river was just just for me, or at least what’s left of it …
