As I like to talk about places to travel in Brazil, it’s my nation with great pride! I know different places in the world, I’ve been to several countries in practically every continent of the planet, however I must confess that sometimes it can be very difficult to find places with some of the characteristics that are abundant in the national territory: friendly people, spectacular cuisine and sensational landscapes .
When planning our vacation trips, we have some common goals: we want to rest, enjoy life and build positive memories that we will take with us forever.
That’s when we have the opportunity to discover new places and we can return to other destinations that we like a lot! We taste different food, take a dip in beaches and natural pools or just choose a beautiful resort by the sea to make the most of the good moments of leisure and entertainment that our vacations can provide us so well.
Places to travel in Brazil
Today I come to recommend you some of the places I have already visited in the national territory and that could become your next vacation destination in Brazil.
These are places that stole my heart, that are part of important memories, destinations where I would never hesitate when planning a new trip, thus having the possibility of obtaining different experiences in some of the most spectacular places in our country. Come on!?
Port of Chickens in Pernambuco (Porto de Galinhas)
If you like the beach, good hotels and natural pools, then Porto de Galinhas can be your perfect alternative destination in the Northeast to enjoy a vacation with the whole family. Only a few hours away from Recife, the capital of the state of Pernambuco, Porto de Galinhas is a complete beach complex that has the necessary conditions to serve every traveler profile with quality.
If you can spend a little more on accommodation, then you will be able to find some of the best hotels in Brazil to stay with excellence and high standards.
On the other hand, if your business is to enjoy the beach more than the hotel, then you will also be able to find interesting accommodation alternatives in the center of the village. The important thing is not to miss some of the most famous natural pools present in Pernambuco territory.
Laguna, Garopaba and Imbituba in Santa Catarina
Three spectacular cities, very welcoming and with countless alternatives for leisure and “eco-tourism” are waiting to be discovered by you, your friends and your entire family.
Only a few hours away by car from the beautiful Florianópolis, these cities together make up the tourist itinerary that takes the name of the Right Whale Route, due to the constant presence of these spectacular animals during the season, being frequently seen in some of the main beaches in the region.
Lençóis Maranhenses in the state of Maranhão
In a remote place in the state of Maranhão, you can find some of the most spectacular landscapes in Brazil. The trip to Lençóis can start in the city of Barreirinhas, one of the starting points for exploring the main lakes in this Brazilian national park.
It is also possible to visit Lençóis through other cities, such as Primeira Cruz or Santo Amaro do Maranhão.
To spend a day in the park, it can be interesting to use the help of one of the regional guides so as not to get lost in the landscapes and, above all, so that he can ensure that you discover the best lagoons during your visit.
The guides are very friendly, have vast knowledge of the region and can help plan the tour so you can enjoy your time in the best places.
Jericoacoara in Ceará
This is a destination definitely blessed by God, its infinite grandeur is apparent in the natural beauty of this village on the sand located north of Fortaleza. A place where you can feel how kind the people are and also discover the reasons for the many smiles on the faces of visitors and the people who live there.
One of the highlights of the trip to Jeri is without a doubt when the sun begins to fall over the horizon, announcing the end of another day. As in a long procession, the vast majority of tourists and locals start the journey from the village to the top of the 40 meters of the “Duna do Pôr do Sol”.
This is known as one of the most fantastic beach destinations in the country, in addition to exploring dunes and enjoying refreshing saltwater baths, you can visit some of the most idyllic lagoons in the country, including Lagoa do Paraíso, a place that brilliantly lives up to to your name.
Foz do Iguaçu and the Triple Frontier in Paraná
The best place to visit Brazil and get to know other countries on the same trip is Foz do Iguaçu. A city that marks the border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, this is the destination you’ll want to visit if you’re passionate about contemplating nature in its most beautiful landscapes.
So many attractions are reserved for visitors to this region, that it ends up being possible to live a lifetime on the border without depleting the leisure and entertainment possibilities that exist there.
If you choose to visit this place, I strongly recommend a visit to the Iguaçu Falls National Park, a unique natural wonder on the planet, as well as a visit to the largest immersion nursery in South America, Parque das Aves.
Other attractions that deserve your visit are the New Landmark of the 3 Borders on the Brazilian side, the Itaipu Plant and even a visit to Ciudad del Leste to shop in Paraguay.
Region of Lakes in Rio de Janeiro
This is simply one of the regions with the clearest waters on the Brazilian coast. If you’ve always dreamed of visiting Rio de Janeiro, then give this state the opportunity to impress you!
It’s not just the beauties of the “Wonderful City” that visitors to Rio live in, there are other incredible municipalities with some of the most spectacular beaches on the coast of Rio de Janeiro that are worth visiting.
This is a state that has perfect destinations to combine with a trip to the capital, I highly recommend the Região dos Lagos, made up of the cities of Cabo Frio, Búzios and Arraial do Cabo, as one of the successful alternatives for those planning a trip to Rio de Janeiro and wants to go beyond the most explored trivial itineraries.
Morro de São Paulo in Bahia
By name, people who don’t know think that this place is in São Paulo, but it is located far above, more specifically close to the outskirts of the Bahian city of Valença. Morro de São Paulo is located on an island in the Tinharé archipelago, one of the most beautiful tourist gems on the northeastern coast, comprising about 26 islands, only 3 of which are inhabited. This region of Brazil is known as Costa do Dendê and is home to other nationally renowned destinations, such as the beautiful island of Boipeba, the historic city of Cairu and the town of Gamboa.
Until the 60s, Morro de São Paulo was just a fishing village. It was only in the 70s with the arrival of backpackers and hippies that the small and quiet village began to receive tourists and new residents. Today, this small town has become one of the main points of visitation for tourists who choose to explore the tourist destinations present in the southern region of Bahia.
Caldas Novas e Rio Quente em Goiás
Anyone who hasn’t seen Caldas Novas and the Rio Quente region in the south of Goiás doesn’t know what they’re missing! Friendly destination for travelers of any age group, this is one of the main hydrothermal complexes in the world. There is even a hot water river that overflows from the foothills of the Serra de Caldas, forming an excellent haven for leisure and entertainment in the Brazilian Midwest.
It is much more convenient to stay in the city of Caldas Novas and take daily trips to Rio Quente. It is also possible to stay in the small city where one of the largest thermal complexes in the world is located. There are numerous hotels and inns at an affordable cost for those who want to explore the wonders offered by the thermal waters of the state, which is located in the heart of Brazil.
Discover the canyons between Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul
Some of the most beautiful landscapes in the south of the country are concentrated between the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. This is a region with exuberant nature where you can discover one of the most inspiring national parks in Brazil, the Aparados da Serra and the canyons of Serra Geral.
To explore the trails of these parks and gain access to these spectacular landscapes, it may be necessary to establish your base for explorations in cities such as Cambará do Sul (RS), São José dos Ausentes (RS), Praia Grande (SC) or Bom Jardim da Serra (SC).
Fernando de Noronha in Pernambuco
Friendly people, spectacular beaches, trails that end in natural pools. These are just some of the many other activities available to travelers who choose to explore the natural wonders that can only be found in the remote archipelago of Fernando de Noronha.
Among the highlights that deserve mention here, we can mention one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Baía do Sancho. From there, it is also possible to walk along an accessible trail to the viewpoint that offers the landscape of Baía dos Porcos with the Morro Dois Irmãos, the postcard of this Brazilian paradise.
In conclusion did you like of the places to travel in Brazil?
Our country is full of natural beauty that deserves to be explored further by us Brazilians. When planning your next vacation, be sure to consider including one of the destinations listed here in your travel itinerary.
